My approach

Since 2012 I’ve worked on projects ranging from total renovations to purging every closet someone has. Whether we work together for months or for a few hours, it might be good for you to know that lot of people have told me that the design work I do has changed their lives for the better. They like having friends and family over again. They feel more at ease in their home. They feel proud. Someone told me once that when they look at pictures of my work, they feel like they can breathe. That’s pretty much the best compliment I’ve ever gotten.

Here’s how we can work together

I don’t charge by the project, but by the hour so you’ll always know what you’re getting and what you’ll be paying for it.
Here are some examples of how I can help.

1

Style consulting

I am a problem solver and my radar for poorly functioning floor planning is awesome. I once had a client who thought she would need all new furniture and I was able to just swap rugs and furniture between rooms so that it all functioned and looked better. I can also give you random suggestions (this room wants to be peacock blue, this corner needs a floor lamp, this painting is too big for this wall). And lots of other good design mischief-making kinds of things. It feels good and it’s fun.

2

Airbnb styling

Is your rental living up to its full potential? I see so many vacation rentals in New England and, well, everywhere, that need help standing out on rental platforms, that could benefit from an extra dose of thoughtfulness, and that just need that little shove beyond “good enough” into “WOW!” I can visit your listing and spot, diagnose its needs, make recommendations, and provide you with anything from new floor plans to better verbiage.

3

Purging & organizing

My mantra is: why design before you purge and organize? In fact, I love editing and organizing, so if you want me to come hold your hand as we empty a closet, yes please! We lovingly go through your stuff deciding what can be donated, has to be thrown out, or should be saved, then we organize and store so that your closet functions optimally. Typically a closet will take 3-4 hours, depending on size and volume of stuff of course.

4

Shelf & surface styling

People hire me to style their shelves (it's a thing). A bookcase can take 1-2 hours; a wall of shelves up to 4-5. I once worked in a mansion where it took me 3 days to style one room there were so many shelves and things. I style bars and bar carts, kitchen counters and shelving, all those cute built-ins the East Bay bungalows have, dressers and vanities, bathroom shelving, coffee tables, and anything else you can imagine. If it has a surface, I have styled it.

5

Art styling & hanging

I love a good gallery wall! Depending on the size of the wall, they can take anywhere from 2 - 8 hours. I first curate your art and see what color story and other relationships emerge. Then I arrange everything on the floor to find their best proximity to each other. I then create a template of each piece of art out of paper and tape them onto the wall so that we can adjust and play around with placement without puncturing the wall. Then we hang!

Custom packages

Not seeing exactly what you need here? Or just not sure what you need? Let’s chat about what’s going on and how I might be able to help. I love helping in person and on site, but Zoom is good, too, if you’re not in my area. (And seriously, in one chat I can usually figure out the situation and give you a good idea of what should happen to get you going.)

“I didn’t realize that coming home was like walking into a huge to-do list. Now that the house feels more finished, coming home feels peaceful and invigorating; I have brain space to tackle the stuff I love to do.”

The best part about working with me? You get to meet George.

Okay, getting your house sorted is the best part. But this cat is pretty great.
